About the house
Designed for slow days and wide horizons
Lagoon Edge Retreat sits on the water's edge in Hermanus, where the Klein River lagoon meets fynbos and mountain. From the outside it's a simple Facebrick house in a quiet estate — but step inside and the mood shifts completely.
The interior draws from Bali's open-air pavilions: warm reclaimed wood, natural textures, and rooms that invite the garden and lagoon light inside. It's a calm, considered space that feels a world away from the ordinary.
Mornings start with coffee outside and the sound of birds from the nearby wetlands. Evenings end with a fire, a glass of local wine, and a sky that turns from sage to gold.
